Day 57
Listen to Today’s Reading:
Who cares what I do to myself? After all, I can do whatever I want as long as it doesn't hurt anyone. It’s my body. I can see how you could feel this way because you’re right—it is your body. If you are a Christian and have put your faith in Jesus, you know that what you do with your body and to your body matters very much.
Today’s Passage: 1 Corinthians 6:19–20
"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies."
Reflect: When God gave his Son Jesus to save you, he sent his Holy Spirit to live in you. The Holy Spirit is there to comfort you, help you, and guide you. It’s God—living in you. And how you treat your body matters very much to your heavenly Father. So take a few minutes and think about the things you do to take care of your body. Think about the things you do that are harmful to your body.
What can you start doing, or stop doing, that would honor God with your body?
Pray: I know this isn’t easy—pray today and ask God to help you. Invite him to use your body and your life to do great things for him.
