Listen to Today’s Reading:

Do you ever struggle with pride? I can think of times when I pursued my selfish desire at the expense of someone else or when I thought I was better than someone else. I don’t like to admit that, but I think it’s true of all of us.

Today’s Passage: Philippians 2:3–4

"Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests but also for the interests of others."

Reflect: What would it look like to put others before yourself? Think about some areas in your life where you are competing with others or where you are putting your desires above those of other people. Think about your family, your friends, and your teammates. Get honest with yourself for a few minutes.

Pray: Talk to God about it. Ask him to show you how you can put others first and become the kind of person who lifts others up.
