Day 40

Listen to Today’s Reading:

Do other people know that you are a follower of Jesus? How do they know? The number one way that others know you follow Jesus and they learn what it means to be Christian is by the way that you love them. You stand out and are different by the way that you love people who are hard to love, people that don’t fit in, people that don’t deserve it. Your kindness, caring, forgiveness, and support of the people around you shows everyone that you are a Jesus follower. It’s your testimony!

Today’s Passage: John 13:34–35 

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."

Reflect: So what is the view of Jesus that you’re giving to the people around you? None of us are perfect at this, but think about the interactions you’ve had with the people around you over the past few days. How well have you loved them?  What can you do to show them love—just like Jesus loves you.

Pray: Pray and ask Jesus to show up through you to the people around you. Loving everyone isn’t easy. Ask him to help you love others like he loves you.
