Day 36
Listen to Today’s Reading:
Do you find it hard to trust God with your everyday life? There is something in all of us that desires control of our own lives. It makes us feel safe—like we can avoid all pitfalls—and drive ourselves toward success. It can be hard and even scary to trust God with our decisions, our dreams, and our future.
But God wants us to remember that he loves us more than anyone else. He wants what is best for us, and he is the only one who is actually over all things.
He’s inviting us to lay down our desire to control and direct our lives. Instead, he wants us to seek him, follow him, and trust him.
Today’s Passage: Proverbs 3:5–6
Write these verses down and put them somewhere that you can see every day.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Reflect: Take a few minutes and think about the direction of your life. Where are you going? Who do you trust more with your future? You? Or God?
Pray: Pray and ask God to help you trust him more. Invite him into the leadership of your life, and seek to follow where he leads you.
