Day 9

In John 9, Jesus healed a blind man. You’d think people would have been excited about this miracle, but instead they were furious. The Pharisees interrogated the newly healed blind man about Jesus, and his response is the beautiful story of every follower of Jesus: “Whether he is a sinner or not, I don’t know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!” All of us were once spiritually blind, but when we place our faith in Jesus, we are able to see. What Jesus did for this man physically is the story of the Christian spiritually.

Prayer
God, thank you for this example that shows us our condition. I know I was blind. Thank you for giving me the ability to see. Please help me be continually grateful for this gift, and help me see ways I can help others receive Jesus’s gift of sight.
