Day 26

Did you know that God actually refers to himself as a jealous God? This simply means that because of his great love for his people, he does not want them straying to any other false gods. We are so prone to wander, but today we will be reminded that following God is the best possible choice we can make.

Today’s Passage: Exodus 34:14
“Do not worship any other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.”

Reflect: What does it mean that God is “jealous”? How do you think that might be different from people being jealous? How does God being jealous for you make you feel? What are some “false gods” you are tempted to chase after? Why is God better? 

Pray: Ask God to help you stay close to him and keep you from wandering after “false gods.”
