Day 21
Listen to Today’s Reading:
What do you have to offer? Have you ever watched a friend roll up their sleeves to serve God and wondered, What about me? What do I have to offer?
At times I’ve wondered if I had anything to contribute. I’ve watched my friends serve, go on mission trips, lead teams, and even lead worship. And I think, I could never.
Today’s Passage: Romans 12:4–8
For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.
Reflect: This verse tells us that just like the different parts of our bodies have different functions and uses, so do we as part of the body of believers. We were made to do different things. The key part of this verse is that we were made to participate. God has given us strengths and gifts, and he wants us to use them!
Pray: Pray and ask God to show you how you can get involved and then—do it. Get involved and watch God use your efforts to impact the world around you.
