Day 10
Listen:
What if you are tired of fighting the good fight? It’s true that life can be hard, hurtful, and overwhelming. It can seem like all you do is fight for what is right, fight against evil, and fight your fears. There are times where it feels like a constant battle. And that’s exhausting.
But you’re not in it alone. And you are not weak. And, even better, your God is not weak. Read this.
Today’s Passage: Isaiah 40:28-31
“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
Look It Up: Look up Isaiah 40:28-31 in your Bible and highlight all of the power statements of what God will do for you when you are feeling beaten down and weary.
Reflect: As you read this passage, I want you to know that you’ve got this because you are not alone. You can endure and stand up and fight back because you are a child of God. God is with you. He is for you. He will not let you stand alone.
Turn to him and tell him what you’re carrying and how you’re feeling. Ask for him to show up in big ways in your life.
Write It Down: Grab your journal and answer these questions.
What battle are you fighting? Where are you growing weary or feeling overwhelmed?
What battles are your friends or family fighting? How can you encourage them?
What statements in the passage above stood out to you?
What are you asking God to do for you today?
Pray: Tell God about what you’re carrying and ask him for help. Tell him how strong and powerful he is and ask him to step in beside you and lift you up.
