Day 13

The night before Jesus went to the cross, he did something no one was expecting. In John 13, we see the Son of God—who was about to die for the sin of the world, defeat death, and rise to life again—model what it means to serve. On a night where he could have asked to be treated like a king, he humbled himself like a servant before his followers and washed their feet. In verse 15, Jesus said, “I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.” Let’s follow in that example and serve the way he served.

Prayer
Father, remind me today that in the kingdom of God, it is greater to serve than to be served. Help me grow in the way I serve others today.
